His tail changes color and his wings shrink in this form. He is much more powerful in this form than in his imperfect form. Other changes include his eyes resembling Android 17's and a voice change. Semi-Perfect Cell was able to do serious damage to Android 16 with a single blast, but he wasn't even close to Vegeta's power after the latter became a 2nd Grade Super Saiyan. After absorbing Android 18 Cell transforms into Perfect Cell, his final form. He resembles a human much more in this form than in previous ones, albeit with very pale, near-white skin.
His tail retracts into his back to keep it out of the way, but can be extended and used in the same ways as it could before.
The wings on his back grow longer than ever and also turn an almost jet black color. Cell has enough power to easily beat Vegeta, regenerate entirely from a single cell in minutes, and create many Cell Juniors, tiny versions of Cell that are each stronger than Vegeta. Cell decided to blow himself up. Goku used Instant Transmission to get Cell off the planet, killing himself in the process.
Cell survived and regenerated, though, and due to his Saiyan DNA, he had the ability of Zenkai, which let him get stronger when he was near death. With his new power, he became Super Perfect Cell. Super Perfect Cell looks just like Perfect Cell, but with a crackling electric aura. He became as or more powerful than Gohan, and boasted that he could destroy the solar system with a Kamehameha whether this was true is unknown.
After achieving his perfect form, Cell decided to arrange a tournament for Earth's strongest fighters to attempt to defeat him. He gives the fighters 10 days to prepare, which many spend in the Hyperbolic Time Chamber, but Goku and Gohan simply spend them resting to build up their endurance in the Super Saiyan form.
Cell's first challenger was Mr. Satan who, despite his posturing, was easily defeated. Goku took up the challenge afterwards, and was seemingly evenly matched with Cell. However, he eventually forfeited, claiming he couldn't win--but volunteering Gohan, who he believed could. Goku believed that Gohan had deeply hidden strength, and if he could use it, he would become stronger than Cell. Gohan, being peaceful at heart, warned Cell of this--that when his anger rises, he loses control and becomes frighteningly powerful.
This backfired, making Cell want to see this power, so he could prove he is even greater. He spawned seven Cell Jr's and sent them to attack the fellow Z Warriors, who were quickly overwhelmed--even Goku, the strongest of them, was exhausted from his fight with Cell and couldn't hold his own. However, it still wasn't enough to bring forth Gohan's power.
In an attempt to stop Cell, Android 16 grabbed Cell and attempted to activate his self-destruct mechanism. However, it was revealed that when Bulma repaired Android 16, she removed the explosive in him, leaving him unable to self-destruct. In response to this, Cell nearly completely destroyed him with an energy blast.
Fortunately his head remained, and he called on Mr. Satan to help him reach Gohan. Satan managed to throw him into the battle, where Android 16 told Gohan it was okay to fight to protect the Earth and the innocent lives on it.
After his speech was completed, Cell crushed him. Seeing the peace-loving android destroyed in such a cold-blooded fashion finally awoke Gohan's anger, and he achieved Super Saiyan 2. He then turned his attention to Cell, and quickly showed that he is far more powerful.
For one, in the manga Imperfect Cell only has three fingers on each hand. In the show, they gave him the typical five, maybe just because it was easier to draw. Another somewhat odd change is the way Cell is referred to.
In the show, Cell is always spoken of with male pronouns. Cell is an artificial being, so it makes sense that the Z Fighters might view Cell as more of a robot than a human. But that small difference adds a really different way of thinking about the villain.
Voice actors have to have a lot of diversity in how they sound so they can play a lot of different roles, so it can be surprising when someone you've associated with one character also voices someone totally different.
Cell's voice actor has an even more amusing secondary role in the franchise. Dameon Clarke is the voice actor of Cell for FUNimation's English dub, creating the confident, sophisticated voice that so many people associate with Perfect Cell. The movie provided our first time seeing or hearing an adult Gohan, who was also voiced by Clarke. This means Clarke wound up playing an alternate version of the character who killed Cell. He didn't continue voicing Gohan into the Buu saga, but Clarke can still say he's voiced two of the most popular characters in the franchise.
You always hear memes about how tough Goku is, but you might not even realize just how powerful he is until you stop and think that he has only ever been killed twice. Cell holds the honor of being one of those characters who has actually managed to kill Goku. For the other character, you have to go all the way back to the first fight of DBZ, when Piccolo killed Goku to finish off Raditz. So really Goku has only ever died of his own volition.
Unless something changes in Super , Cell might very well be the last person to have ever killed Goku. For DBZ to continue after the death of Frieza, the series obviously needed to go in a new direction to keep things fresh. Akira Toriyama had originally been inspired by the story of Journey to the West when creating the manga, but had long since exhausted that source of ideas.
He needed something new to look to, and it just so happened that a groundbreaking sci-fi franchise was pretty popular right around this time. The similarities are pretty obvious once you recognize them. Terminator has Kyle Reese sent from the future to warn the past of a robot apocalypse that will occur.
Future Trunks is also a time traveler who journeys back to warn that his timeline has been devastated by androids, and he hopes his warning to the Z Fighters can help avert that future. You have Cell, who is able to regenerate, much like the liquid metal Terminator, and you have Gohan playing a John Connor type of role.
Plus the date that the first Terminator appears is on May 12— the same day the androids first appear in DBZ. It seems like characters never really stay gone in the world of Dragon Ball , even the villains. Buu lives on as one of the good guys now, Vegeta has been fully converted to one of the Z Fighters, and the same is true about Piccolo. And apparently the way Toryiama designed Cell made the character a particularly irritating experience. Obviously since Cell has an insect motif, he is covered in lots of little spots, kind of like a ladybug.
Evidently those spots take a long time to draw, because Toriyama has been said to have regretted the way he designed Cell for that very reason. What surprised you the most to learn about Cell? Tell us in the comments, and let us know if you have any other interesting facts about him! They provide structure for the body, take in nutrients from food, convert those nutrients into energy, and carry out specialized functions.
Cells have many parts, each with a different function. Some of these parts, called organelles, are specialized structures that perform certain tasks within the cell.
Human cells contain the following major parts, listed in alphabetical order:. Within cells, the cytoplasm is made up of a jelly-like fluid called the cytosol and other structures that surround the nucleus. The cytoskeleton has several critical functions, including determining cell shape, participating in cell division, and allowing cells to move. It also provides a track-like system that directs the movement of organelles and other substances within cells. This organelle helps process molecules created by the cell.
The endoplasmic reticulum also transports these molecules to their specific destinations either inside or outside the cell. The Golgi apparatus packages molecules processed by the endoplasmic reticulum to be transported out of the cell. These organelles are the recycling center of the cell.
They digest foreign bacteria that invade the cell, rid the cell of toxic substances, and recycle worn-out cell components.
